The silk scarf rule

Leila's one habit for glossier hair, and it costs nothing.

Cotton pillowcases drink oil and rough up the cuticle. A silk scarf, loosely tied, keeps the gloss we put in for weeks longer.

Leila ties hers in a low knot at the nape; Ama prefers a bonnet for curls. Either works. The trick is to start the night you leave the salon.

Wash less, rinse cooler

Two washes a week, a cool rinse at the end, and a wide-tooth comb in the shower. That's the whole routine.
